CCA Spring Conference
The Spring Conference is held in April and highlights membership. At this conference, we also highlight our “We Honor Ours” (WHO) Awards winners. This is a special program which honors our own local and state union leaders. We also hold our last Council of the academic year. Generally, members will also receive Legislative updates pertaining to California Community Colleges.
California Community College Association for Occupational Education Spring Conference
CCCAOE’s Spring 2023 Conference will focus on Belonging, Connectedness, Student-Centered Strategies, Work-based Learning, Community Partnerships, hearing the voices of those who aren’t being heard, and HIGHLIGHTING the tremendously innovative work that is happening all across the state. This conference will bring learning to transform the model of career development around sustainable calls to action. The event is a vital component of the growth and development of career education and educators.
United States Institute of Theater Technology
The annual technical theater conference, hosted this year in St. Louis, MO, allows an opportunity for professionals to gather, share best practices, learn about new techniques being practiced at regional and national theaters, and network with other professionals in all disciplines of technical theater.
Mt.SAC Board of Trustees
All of our efforts start at the local level. Attending and keeping open dialogue with our local BoT’s is one way to encourage positive bargaining. Speaking up and letting them know how we feel is another way. Wherever your local is at in their relationship with the board, we must remain active if we want to affect positive change towards social justice on our campuses.

Mt. San Antonio College CTE Spring Updates
Joshua Christ will be Co-Leading an in-person training for Faculty at Mt. San Antonio College, providing legislative, policy and best practice updates on current events that will impact Career and Technical Education within Higher Ed. Topics Include:
- Legislative Updates on AB1705, AB928, AB260, and New Representative Positions
- New Work Experience Requirements and a local grant to pay on campus work experience students
- 2023/2024 PERKINS Grant Updates & Advisory Committees
- 2023/2024 Strong Workforce Grant
- Maximizing SCFF Metrics to increase program funding
